The final piece to the puzzle, we are very pleased to share with you the full debut album from Eora/Sydney based vocalist Askew Bedu. The album features eight tracks, each one a collaboration with an Australian based producer, including: Akul, Mincy, Killjoy, Chris Munky, Krypsis, 99 Nissan Patrol, Longhead and Core.

We managed to get one session in creating this album before the second Sydney lockdown hit. The remainder of the album has been built via long distance link ups despite being such a huge collaboration piece, and is something the entire Spicy crew is incredibly proud of. We hope you enjoy it as much as us.

But wait a sec.. who is Askew?

Red Pill (outta this) World Music. Dread locked head rocker Askew Bedu’s 2019 Debut EP ‘Rubric’s Cube’ lays down the (break the) law, and with their larger than life ethos established, Askew Bedu is already posed as a giant in the Australian future music scene. Or is that more just their stature?!

Hovering over 200cm, this maestro on the mic has clearly mastered his craft, with slick witty wordplay and consistently catchy melodies over transformative electric arrangements and ‘most importantly, a finally finely-tuned, accessible way to spread the message’ - as they themselves put it.

Bedu’s flows sit in that space between ‘calmingly familiar’ and ‘WTF IS THAT!?’

Known to some as a ‘Gangsta Hippie’ with that ‘Spiritual, but don’t F**k with me vibe’.
